README
dsk-dev-ai/env-proofenv-proof
Prove your environment before you run. Validate your app's environment against a typed contract — fail fast in local dev and CI, never leak secrets.
Status: under active development — v1.0.0 coming soon. See SPEC.md for the exact V1 specification.
Quickstart (preview)
// env.contract.ts
export default {
DATABASE_URL: { required: true, type: 'url' },
PORT: { required: true, type: 'number', min: 1, max: 65535 },
NODE_ENV: { required: true, type: 'enum', values: ['development', 'test', 'production'] },
} as const;
npx env-proof # ✓ pass → exit 0 · ✗ fail → every problem listed, exit 1
What it is NOT
- Not dotenv — it does not load
.envfiles. - Not a config framework — one job only: verify the environment satisfies the contract.
- No secret management, no coercion — values are checked exactly as provided.
